Salem Volleyball Drops Two Road Matches

Maryville, Tn. - The Salem College volleyball team was on the road again taking on Lynchburg and Maryville at the Maryville College Invitational where Salem lost both matches 3-1.

vs. Lynchburg

 In a rematch of the season opener, Salem battled throughout the contest but came up short after taking the first set. The first three sets were all within three points proving the even nature of the teams.  Taylor Moulton led the way offensively posting 12 kills with Madelyn Chappell close behind with 11. Hannah Delcamp set up her team with 23 assists and Maggie Hawks led defensively with 21 digs. 

 vs. Maryville

 Match two in the tournament, Salem faced the host team and jumped out to an early lead but a powerful Scots comeback would give them the edge in the first. The momentum favored the Scots in set two as they battle to a 25-15 win. For the third set, Salem came out swinging and shifted the momentum to win 25-22. The final set of the day, Salem struggled and fell 25-8.

Salem Standouts

Moulton and Chappell led the offensive efforts for Salem as they combined for 40 kills in today's matches.
