Charleston, SC- The Salem College cross country team finished 6th out of 8 teams in the Citadel Invitational Division II race this morning. Salem had five runners set personal records on the 5k course. Julie Piernikowski (Potomac, MD) set her personal record (22:14), and was 24th overall in the race. Lauren Meek (Draper, VA) finished one spot behind Piernikowski in a time of 22:27.
Julie Bigsby (Salisbury, NC) also broke a personal record and was 38th overall (23:32). Stephanie Mendez (Atlanta, GA) finished in fourth for the Spirits in a time of 23:46, and set a personal best. Emily Abel (Otto, NC) and Kaycee Ingram (Mt. Ulla, NC) also set personal records today.
Salem returns to action in two weeks at the Furman Invitational in Greenville, SC.
