Cross Country finishes in 10th at William Wilson/Citadel Invitational

Charleston, SC-The Salem College cross country team finished in 10th place for NCAA Division II and Division III schools at the William Wilson/Citadel Invitational today. The 5k meet was run on a very hot course with temperatures in the mid-nineties. Julie Piernikowski (Potomac, MD) was the top finisher for Salem coming in 27th place in a time of 21:57.

Natali Olveda (Litchfield Park, AZ) was the second runner across for the Spirits in 47th place (23:27). Joanna Mills (Cary, NC) had her top finish for Salem in the meet as the third-place runner on the team. She finished in 59th overall in her personal record of 24:21. The only other NCAA DIII school in the meet, Methodist University, finished one spot above the Spirits.

Salem hits the road again next week when they travel to Bethlehem, PA for the Paul Short Invite on October 1st.
