Cross country finishes in fifth at NC Collegiate Championships

Greensboro, NC-The Salem College cross country team finished in 5th out of 11 teams at the North Carolina Collegiate Championships 6K hosted by Guilford College. Four of the runners from Salem finished in their personal 6K record. Stephanie Mendez (Atlanta, GA) ran a Salem season best 6K (27:30) and finished in 18th place. Salem was the fourth DIII program in the race out of nine teams.

Natali Olveda (Litchfield Park, AZ) set her personal 6K mark (28:12). Bethany Eaton (State Road, NC) finished in third for the Spirits in her personal record (29:00). Joanna Mills (Cary, NC) was Salem's fourth runner (31:08), and Akaya McElveen (New Haven, CT) and Jessica Butner (Mocksville, NC) also set personal records in the race. 

Salem returns to action on October 30th when they travel to Maryville College for the Great South Championships.
