Cross Country runs at Paul Short Invite in Pennsylvania

Bethlehem, PA-The Salem College cross country team competed today in the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University. Salem ran in the college women white 6K race and finished in 35th out of 36 of the top teams in the area. Stephanie Mendez (Atlanta, GA) was the top finisher for the Spirits in the race. Mendez finished in 189th place in a time of 28:17.

Natali Olveda (Litchfield Park, AZ) was the second runner in for the Spirits just one spot behind Mendez in a time of 28:28. Bethany Eaton (State Road, NC) and Joanna Mills (Cary, NC) finished the 6K course in below 30 minutes for the Spirits. Akaya McElveen (New Haven, CT) was Salem's fifth finisher across the line.

Swarthmore College was the overall winner of the race. Salem returns on October 16th when they run in the Guilford College Invitational in Greensboro, NC.
