Lynchburg, VA-The Salem College track team competed at the Lynchburg Invitational this weekend in Virginia against NCAA DI, DII, and DIII opponents. MacKenzie Schmidt (Columbus, OH) had Salem's highest finish of the meet in the open 400 meter race. She finished in ninth in a season best 1:04.
Courtney Hedgecock (San Diego, CA) took seven seconds off of her personal record for the 1500 meter run. She finished in 17th overall in a time of 5:30. Schmidt was also Salem's top finisher in the 800. She ran a season best 2:48 and finished in 22nd. Stephanie Hubbard (Sanford, NC) finished in 24th in the 800 in a season best 2:51. Paige Hamilton was the Spirits top 200 meter runner in 31 seconds.
