The classes of 2012 and 2014 defeated the classes of 2013 and 2015, 24-6, in the first ever Salem College Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) Powderpuff Game today at the Salem Soccer Field. The game was a fundraiser as part of the NCAA Division III initiative of raising money towards the Special Olympics.
The Salem College cross country team finished in 5th place at the 2011 Great South Cross Country Championship Meet hosted by Covenant College. Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA) continued her impressive year with a 5th place overall finish. Piedmont College took the team overall championships.
The Salem College cross country team ran in a dual meet hosted by Southern Virginia University. SVU defeated the Spirits 17-38. Natali Olveda (Salinas, CA) was the first Spirit across the line and was 5th overall (26:05) on the 5K course.
Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA) was selected as the Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) Runner of the Week for last week. She led the Salem College cross country team to a 5th place finish at the Wilbur Ross Invitational 5K meet hosted by Winston-Salem State University. Magracia had her highest finish of the season in 2nd place at the meet, and her personal record at Salem (20:39).

The Salem College cross country team finished in 10th place on a very muddy 5K course at Hagan Stone Park. The Spirits competed without two of their top three runners, but Natali Olveda (Salinas, CA) had a strong 51st overall finish (24:23). Salem defeated Greensboro College, which was the only other NCAA DIII team on the course.
The Salem College cross country team finished in 9th out of 10 teams at the Lenoir-Rhyne 5K Invitational today. They were the only NCAA Division III program on the course. Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA) took 1:56 off of her time from last weeks meet to finish in 24th place at 21:13.
