Lookout Mountain, GA-The Salem College cross country team finished in 5th place at the 2011 Great South Cross Country Championship Meet hosted by Covenant College. Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA) continued her impressive year with a 5th place overall finish. Piedmont College took the team overall championships.

Magracia earned GSAC All-Conference and All-Freshman honors with her 5th place finish. She ran the 6K course in 26:03, which was just 57 seconds behind the overall champion Tera Woods from Covenant. She was the 3rd freshman to cross the line.

Natali Olveda (Salinas, CA) was the 2nd Spirit to finish and 21st overall in a time of 29:38. Tali Schroeder (Lexington, VA) was the 3rd Salem runner and 40th overall runner (32:01).

Woods won the meet in a time of 25:10. Salem defeated Spelman and LaGrange in the seven member race.
