Buena Vista, VA-The Salem College cross country team ran in a dual meet hosted by Southern Virginia University. SVU defeated the Spirits 17-38. Natali Olveda (Salinas, CA) was the first Spirit across the line and was 5th overall (26:05) on the 5K course.

Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA) finished 10 seconds behind Olveda and in 6th overall. Stephanie Verdi (High Point, NC) was the 3rd Salem runner and 8th overall at 26:17.

Salem returns to action this weekend when they head to Tennessee for the Great South Athletic Conference Championships at Covenant College.
