Newport News, VA-The Salem College cross country team competed in the Christopher Newport 6K today and finished in 15th place. Natali Olveda (Salinas, CA) once again was the top Salem runner in the race. She has finished 1st for the Spirits in every meet this year.

Olveda ran the 6K course in 27:25.07 and finished in 100th place. Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA) was 1 spot behind Olveda in 27:30.40. Bethany Eaton was the 3rd runner across for Salem and 126th overall in 29:29.65. Amber Miller (Mebane, NC) and Elizabeth Penley (Newport, NC) rounded out the top 5 for the Spirits.

Salem returns to action in 2 weeks in their biggest meet of the season. They will head to Georgia for the Great South Championships on October 27th at Spelman.
