Cross country finishes in 3rd at Warren Wilson

Asheville, NC-The Salem College cross country team finished in 3rd place at

the Warren Wilson Invitational, and they defeated Toccoa Falls College on the 5k course. Natali Olveda (Salina, CA) was the top finisher for the Spirits on the hilly course. She finished the course in 23:42, which was good enough for 4th overall.

Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA) was the 2nd Spirit runner across the finish line, and she was 9th overall in 24:42. Elizabeth Penley (Newport, NC) and Amber Miller (Mebane, NC) finished in 3rd and 4th for the Spirits, and they finished in 16th and 17th overall. Penley finished in 27:05, and Miller crossed the line in 27:11. Nikki Dillon and Shannon Salzman (Richmond, VA) were the 5th and 6th finishers for Salem.

Warren Wilson was the overall winner of the meet and Tusculum finished in 2nd. The Spirits came in 3rd followed by Toccoa Falls.

Salem returns to action this weekend when they run in the Charlotte Invitational on Friday at 5:00.
