Salisbury, NC-The Salem College cross country team placed in 5th of 6
teams at the Catawba Meet. The Spirits defeated a NCAA DII team, Livingstone College, in the meet. Natali Olveda (Salinas, CA) was the first runner for the Spirits in the 5K race.
Olveda finished in 20th out of 41 scoring runners in a time of 21:47.01. Bethany Eaton (State Road, NC) was the next Spirit runner across the finish line, 4 spots back of Olveda. Elizabeth Penley (Newport, NC) was the 3rd runner for the Spirits in 23:45.13. Amber Miller (Mebane, NC) and Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA) rounded out the top 5 runners for Salem.
The Spirits have a weekend off before they return to action on September 21st at the Warren Wilson 5K.
