Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College cross country team had 3 runners

honored this weekend at the Great South Championships hosted by Spelman. The team finished 1 point behind the champion Jaguars of Spelman in the meet.

Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA) and Natali Olveda (Salinas, CA) each made the Great South All-Conference team based on their runs in the 6k meet. Magracia finished in 6th and it is the 2nd straight year she has made the all-conference team. Olveda finished in 5th place in the meet, and was the top runner for the Spirits in every meet this year.

Magracia and Olveda were joined by Bethany Eaton (State Road, NC) on the GSAC Academic All-Conference team. A student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or above to earn all-academic honors. The meet was also the farewell meet for Eaton, who is a senior.
