Olveda breaks personal 6K record at Charlotte Invitational

Charlotte, NC-The Salem College cross country team traveled to the Charlotte
charlotteinvitational

Invitational, and finished 13th in the Green 6K Women's Division. Natali Olveda (Salinas, CA) ran her personal best race and finished in 53rd in the division in 26:25.06.

The Spirits competed as the only NCAA Division III school in a field of 14 DI, DII, and NAIA schools. The top 5 runners from Salem averaged a time of 29:23.10 on the 6K course, and they defeated Morris College. The University of South Carolina was the overall winner of the green division.

Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA) was the 2nd Salem runner across the line and 61st overall in 27:30.81. Elizabeth Penley (Newport, NC), Bethany Eaton (State Road, NC), and Amber Miller (Mebane, NC) rounded out the top 5 for the Spirits in the race.

Salem returns to action on October 6th when they travel across town to the Wilbur Ross Invitational hosted by Winston-Salem State.
