Orlando, FL-The Salem College cross country team spent the weekend in Florida as they competed at the 2013 Walt Disney World 5K Classic presented by New Balance. The team finished in 15th place out of 24 teams. Stephanie Verdi (High Point, NC) was the top Salem finisher in 60th place in 20:44.20. The Spirits were the first NCAA DIII team in the competition.

Natali Olveda (Salinas, CA) came across the finish line four spots after Verdi in 20:51.65. Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA) was the next Salem runner in 88th place in 21:46.54. Audrey Wierda (Greenville, MI) finished in 107th in 23:13.36. Tali Schroeder (Lexington, VA) rounded out the top five for Salem in 117th in 24:03.51. 

Amanda Johnson (Virginia Beach, VA) finished in 128th in 24:54.94. Elizabeth Penley (Newport, NC) ran 25:39.23, and Angelica Andrews (East Bend, NC) finished in 27:21.08.
