Cross country finishes as 2nd Division III team in Greensboro

Greensboro, NC-The Salem College cross country team finished in 6th overall and 2nd out of 6 NCAA Division III teams at the 30th Annual Greensboro Cross Country 5K Invitational. Stephanie Verdi (High Point, NC) finished in 18th overall and she was the 3rd DIII runner in a time of 20:42.05. Salem defeated Piedmont, Ferrum, Methodist, and Averett, and they were one spot behind Covenant.

Natali Olveda (Salinas, CA) was the 2nd Spirit across the line and 23rd overall in 20:56.37. Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA) finished in 29th in 21:22.20. Audrey Wierda (Greenville, MI) and Tali Schroeder (Lexington, VA) rounded out the top 5 for Salem. Wierda ran 22:22.91 and Schroeder ran 22:55.77. Amanda Johnson (Virginia Beach, VA) ran a time of 24:42.40 and Gigi Andrews (East Bend, NC) finished in 28:57.02. 

The Spirits return to action next weekend in Asheville at the Warren Wilson 5K.
