Cary, NC-The Salem College cross country team competed at the Wolfpack Invitational 5K on Friday. The Spirits were 8th out of 11 teams in the open division, and they were 3rd of 4 NCAA DIII teams. Stephanie Verdi finished in 20th place to pace the Spirits.

Verdi ran a 20:51.5 on the course. She was the 3rd overall DIII runner. Cristi Magracia was 37th overall in 22:13.7. The next Spirit across the line was Audrey Wierda in 41st place. She ran a 22:41.0. Amanda Johnson finished 4th for Salem and 54th overall (24:24.7). Tali Schroeder wrapped up the top five for Salem in 58th place (25:36.3). 

The Spirits return to action next weekend in Greensboro.
