Demorest, GA-The Salem College cross country team ran in their final meet of the season before the USA South Championships at the Piedmont College Invitational. The Piedmont Invitational is a warm-up meet for the USA South Championships coming up at the end of the month. The Spirits finished in 8th place in the meet, which feature mainly USA South competition. It was also their first meet on a 6K course. Piedmont was the overall winners of the meet.
Janine Bardell was the first Salem runner across the line and 29th overall in 28:12.8. Meghan Menard finished in 37th in 29:14.0. Jessica Bailey was 46th (30:12.1) and Arlene Perez was 49th (31:02). Hannah Ross rounded out the top five for Salem in 57th (33:23).
The Spirits will finish their season back at Piedmont on October 29th.
