Cross country runs hard at Adidas Invitational

Cary, NC-The Salem College cross country team finished in 7th place at the Adidas Invitational 5K Challenge in Cary. The Spirits were the 3rd overall NCAA DIII program behind Meredith and Virginia Wesleyan, and ahead of Guilford, NC Wesleyan, and Peace.

Janine Bardell was the first Salem runner across the line in 27th overall in 22:32. She was followed closely by Jessica Bailey, who finished in 28th in 22:52. Hannah Ross was the third Salem runner in 39th place (24:35), and Una Stroszcek came across the line in 41st place. Karen Romero Mendieta was the final scoring member of the team in 48th place.

The Spirits return to action next weekend at the Methodist Monarch Invite in Fayetteville.
