Salisbury, NC - In their final race of the season before the USA South Championship Race, the Spirits placed 4 of their 5 scoring runners in the top 10.
Finishing 3rd overall, Jessica Bailey ran her second best 5k time of the season at 22:38.0. With her best showing of the season, Una Stroszeck was the 2nd Spirits and 4th overall runner to cross the line. Rounding out the top 10 at the Livingstone Invitational were Karen Romero-Mendieta in 8th and RoyseAnn Day in 10th place. Bringing in the final scorer for Salem College was first-year Mariana Rubio who finished top 20 in the race.
The Spirits tallied 36 points for the day, just 7 points behind first place finisher Livingstone College (29 points). Salem will compete in their final race of the season at Maryville College on Friday October 26 for the USA South Championship Race.
