Kayla Kennedy

Kayla Kennedy was a four-year starter for the Salem College softball program. During her career she was a true utility player as she played all nine positions for the Spirits.

1. What sport did you play? Softball

2. Where are you from? Goldsboro, NC

3. What is your favorite Salem memory? Winning the conference tournament my senior year!

4. What does your current day to day look like? I am a middle school Physical Education and Health teacher, teaching 6th-8th grade. I coach middle school boys’ soccer in the fall and high school girls’ softball in the spring. Between teaching and coaching, I do not have much free time during the week.

5. What was your major? Exercise Science with a minor in Coaching

6. What made you decide to go to Salem? I learned about Salem through one of my friends who was also interested in attending. She told me about Coach Long and the new softball program he was starting. I went with her to visit the campus, and I loved everything about it. The beautiful campus and the wonderful people had me sold!

7. Who were your favorite professors at Salem? Dr. Hixson and Dr. Brooks
