Softball Player of the Week
Mariann Kennison, Piedmont - The junior outfielder from Queen Creek, Arizona went a combined 9-for-17 (.529) with a .600 on-base percentage and a 1.235 slugging percentage to go along with five runs scored, seven RBI, four home runs, three walks and two stolen bases as the Lions notched a 3-3 record last week. In a doubleheader sweep of Agnes Scott, Kennison was a combined 3-for-5 with two runs scored, four RBI, one home run and one walk. In a 4-0 loss to Pfeiffer, Kennison was 1-for-3. In a 5-4 victory over Methodist, Kennison was 1-for-3 with one run scored, one run batted in, one home run and one walk. In a 7-1 loss to top-ranked Virginia Wesleyan, Kennison was 2-for-3 with one run scored, one run batted in and one home run. Finally, in a 7-2 loss to Randolph-Macon, Kennison was 2-for-3 with one run scored, one run batted in, one home run, one walk and two stolen bases. Also Nominated: Nicole Cauthen, Averett; Kaitlyn Checkan, N.C. Softball Pitcher of the Week
Taylor Jackson, Meredith - The senior from Hope Mills, North Carolina earned a 3-0 record with one save and a 0.59 ERA last week in five appearances in the circle last week for the Avenging Angels. In 23.2 innings pitched, Jackson allowed two runs on seven hits with seven walks and 24 strikeouts. Her victories over Shaw, Emory & Henry and McDaniel were all complete-game shutouts. Also Nominated: Taylor Bailey, Averett; Lindsey Selph, Huntingdon; Carsyn Stone, Covenant; Maddy Wetherholt, Greensboro. 

Softball Rookie of the Week
Jasmine Worthy, Greensboro - The freshman outfielder from Charlotte, North Carolina went a combined 7-for-11 (.636) with a .636 on-base percentage and a .727 slugging percentage to go along with three RBI and one double as the Pride posted a 3-1 record last week. In a doubleheader sweep of Southern Virginia, Worthy was a combined 4-for-5 with two RBI and one double. In a doubleheader split with Guilford, Worthy was a combined 3-for-6 with one run batted in. Also Nominated: Beth Braswell, N.C. Wesleyan; Makenzie Collins, Averett; Katie Dewey, Huntingdon; Kristina Mojica, William Peace; Brittany Todd, LaGrange.

Softball Rookie Pitcher of the Week
Miranda Barker, Salem - The first-year from Creedmoor, North Carolina earned a 2-1 record and a 1.33 ERA last week in three starts in the circle for the Spirits. In 21.0 innings pitched, Barker allowed six runs, four of which were earned, on 13 hits with five walks and 22 strikeouts. Barker collected a complete-game shutout in an 8-0 win over Brandeis before notched an eight-inning win over Eastern Mennonite. Also Nominated: Cheyanne Cox, Greensboro; Becca Eddins, Piedmont; Dani Kahn, Averett.
