Winston-Salem, NC- The Salem College softball team swept William Peace at home 1-0 and 5-4. Miranda Barker and Brianna Morris had big games on the mound for Salem as they each earned a win. Salem is now 13-9 overall.

The first game was tight throughout. Salem scored the game's only run in the bottom of the sixth. Miranda Barker scored to give the Spirits the win. She also was on the mound and only gave up 3 hits for the shutout win. Barker had an impressive 11 strikeouts on the mound. Brittany Morton led the team with 2 hits.

In game 2, Salem started the game with solo homers by Barker, Montana Lineberger and Breanna Herman to take a 3-0 lead. Peace came back to take the lead at 4-3 going into the bottom of th 7th. Lineberger started the inning with a double and then scored to tie the game. Madison Burch hit a single to score Stephanie Galioto for the 5-4 win. 

Salem will play Pfeiffer and Lynchburg this weekend.
