Softball Drops Two at Pfeiffer

Misenheimer, NC-The Salem College softball team lost two games at Pfeiffer today. The Falcons won both games by the run rule of 10-2 and 8-0. Jennifer Vitarelli led the Spirits with 2 hits. Salem is now 13-11 overall and Pfeiffer improves to 20-2.

In game 1, Pfeiffer jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the second. They outscored the Spirits 5-2 over the final 3.5 innings. In game 2, Salem were only allowed 2 hits in the shutout loss. 

Kayla Ogle gave up 10 runs and 10 hits in 5.2 innings in the loss in game 1. Vitarelli and Amanda Dacunto each hit a double. Dacunto had the team's only run batted in for the day. Brianna Morris allowed 8 runs on 7 hits in 4 innings in the second game. 

Salem will host Lynchburg tomorrow at 1:00 and 3:00.
