    After serving as the graduate assistant for the Salem softball program, Kierston Garner was named as head coach in the fall of 2018 with the departure of her mentor Scott Long. Garner is an alumna of Salem, who graduated with a bachelor of arts in psychology and a minor in coaching in May 2016.
  • Spirits Tie Longest Winning Streak in Program History

    The 2020 Salem softball team, which completed a doubleheader sweep of FDU-Florham on Wednesday, March 11, by posting wins of 2-0 and 6-0, is now tied with the 2017 unit for the longest winning streak in program history—nine games—which began following a 4-1 triumph over Huntingdon on Feb. 29.

    The middle of the Salem lineup, which consisted of Brianne Coleman, Savanah Atkins and Breanna Herman, all cracked a home run in the second game of a doubleheader with Guilford, but it was a seven-run sixth inning that proved to be the difference as the Quakers completed the afternoon sweep with a 12-9 victory.

    The USA South Conference softball coaches released their 2020 preseason polls on Thursday, Jan. 23, and Salem was picked to finish fourth in the league’s East Division standings.
