Staunton, NC-The Salem College basketball team fought back from a half-time deficit on the road to beat Mary Baldwin 69-54 in USA South East Division action. Mikayla Seivers had a huge night with a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds. Salem improves to 5-10 overall and 3-5 in the USA South, while Mary Baldwin falls to 1-13 and 0-6.

Salem jumped out to a 19-11 lead after the first quarter, before Mary Baldwin outscored the Spirits by 13 in the second quarter to take a 31-26 lead at the break. The third quarter was key for Salem as they jumped all over Mary Baldwin and took a commanding 54-41 lead going into the final quarter. 

Sabrina Shepherd had 16 points and Tyler Davenport added 12 for Salem. Hannah McBride and Seivers each had 3 steals to lead the team, while McBride led Salem with 2 assists. 

Salem returns home on Wednesday night as they host Pfeiffer at 7:30.
