Spirits Unable to Complete Comeback Against Pacers; Final 65-71

Raleigh, NC- Salem Spirits traveled to William Peace University in Conference action yesterday afternoon.  After getting down early and by as many as 12 points, Spirits were able to battle back in the 4th period and take a 59-58 lead, but couldn't sustain the momentum and eventually fell to a final score of 65-71.

Tamara Blanton scored a game high 26 points for the Spirits.  Lauren Privette chipped in with a solid performance of nine points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Salem had a slight advantage inside, outscoring their opponent 26-20 in points in the paint.

Khadijah Daniels of William Peace, led the Pacers by netting 20 points.  Also notching double-figures for the Pacers were Mariah Ballen with 13 points and Shania Springer adding 11 points. Pacers were able to capitalize on the Spirits committing 17 turnovers, which led to 19 points on those forced turnovers.

Spirits have a quick turnaround, as they face the  Pfeiffer University Falcons on Sunday for a 2:00 pm contest in Misenheimer, NC.
