FERRUM, Va. — After an early back and fourth, the Salem Spirits fell in a 21-3 non-conference women's lacrosse game to Ferrum College.

After Ferrum got off to an early lead, Salem senior Cecily Wainschel tied the game with an unassisted goal about six minutes into the game. 

Ferum quickly scored again and Salem freshman Makenzie Hester answered with another unassisted goal for the Spirits, bringing the score to 2-2.

Ferrum would then score 11 unaswerd points before Sophomore Collette Vladmimery earned a free position shot goal.

"The team suffered a tough road lost," Interim Head Lacrosse Coach Emma Rose said, "but we are looking to turn that tough loss into positive outcomes in our games next week."
