THE SHORT STORY

DANVILLE, Va.— The Salem Spirits Lacrosse team couldn't break Averett University's five-game win streak Saturday. Salem was defeated 26-4 on the road.

"We are improving every game are look forward to our remaining conference games," Interim Head Lacrosse Coach Emma Rose said.
 
Salem (1-10) was outshot 40-8 by Averett (9-2) throughout the course of the game and Averett amassed 10 goals in the first 10 minutes of play. 

The second half was marked by more back and forth scores, but it wasn't enough for the Spirits.
