Soccer wins first home game

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team won their first home game of the season today against North Carolina Wesleyan, 2-0. Sawyer Ferguson scored the game-winning goal in the 10th minute. Salem improves to 3-1, while NC Wesleyan falls to 3-2.

The Spirits continued to put attempts on goal throughout the game as they out-shot Wesleyan 18-6. They also had a 3-1 corner kick advantage. Tarryn Johnson added an insurance goal in the 66th minute. Kimmi Templeton stopped a NC Wesleyan penalty kick in the 88th minute.

The Spirits return to the road to take on Greensboro on Saturday.
