Soccer dominates West Virginia Tech

Beckley, WV-The Salem College soccer team cruised to a 4-0 victory at West Virginia Tech. Nataly Mojica netted a hat-trick to pace the Spirits. The Spirits improve to 5-2, while WV Tech falls to 2-2-1.

Mojica scored in the 24th minute on an assist by Nataly Mojica. The Spirits held a 1-0 lead at the break on the very windy field. When the Spirits got the wind behind their backs in the 2nd half, the floodgates opened.

Mojica scored in the 48th minute on an assist by Sydney Priest. Sawyer Ferguson scored 20 minutes later on a cross by Kylie Dillow. Mojica finished off her hat-trick when her corner kick sailed over the WV Tech goalkeeper in the 71st minute.

Kimmi Templeton stopped her 2nd penalty kick of the season in the 87th minute. She finished with 2 saves. The Spirits out-shot WV Tech 17-8 and they had a 7-5 corner kick advantage.

Salem returns to action at Warren Wilson on Saturday at 3:00.
