Salem falls to nationally 3rd ranked Lynchburg

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem soccer team hung tough with nationally ranked and undefeated Lynchburg in non-conference action. Lynchburg, ranked third in the country, won 3-0. Paige Ketchum finished with 15 saves for Salem. The Spirits fall to 11-3 overall, while Lynchburg improves to 14-0.

Lynchburg scored early in the 7th minute on a mis-hit cross by Marina Clark. Salem would hold the high-powered Lynchburg attack for the next 54 minutes. Lynchburg scored their last two goals in the 61st and 68th minute.

Salem returns to Great South play this weekend when they host Wesleyan on Saturday.
