Soccer wins big at Trinity Washington

Washington, D.C.-The Salem College soccer team finished an impressive regular season with an 8-0 win at Trinity Washington. Jordan Lanier finished with a hat-trick and an assist in the win. The Spirits are now 13-2 overall, while Trinity falls to 7-5-1. 

Lanier started the scoring in the 23rd minute on a pass by Brooke Bukas. She scored less than a minute later on a pass by Summer Rich. Maddie Crumpton finished the first half scoring in the 40th minute with an assist by Lanier.

Salem scored three goals in the first 7 minutes of the second half. Tarryn Johnson scored an unassisted goal in the 49th minute. Bukas scored on a Kylie Dillow pass to make it 5-0. Lanier was assisted by Bukas in the 52nd minute. Bukas scored in the 61st minute. Leigh McDonald finished off the scoring on a corner kick by Kayleigh Artise

Paige Ketchum and Sarah Slates split time in goal for the shut-out. Salem held a 32-0 shot advantage and a 14-0 corner kick advantage.

The Spirits will head to the Great South Tournament next week in Decatur, GA.
