Jordan Lanier, a sophomore from Asheboro, NC, was selected to the all-state second team. The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) announced its selections for the 2015 College Division All-State Women's Soccer team on Wednesday. Twenty-two players representing 10 different North Carolina Colleges and Universities were selected to the first and second teams.
Only two players were selected to the All-State team from NCAA Division III schools. Lanier was selected to the Great South All-Conference team. She led all players in the conference in goals with 13 and points with 31. She also led the conference in the important statistic of game-winning goals with 6.
The NCCSIA All-State second team is comprised of UNC Pembroke's Janae Aiken and Amber Watkins, Belmont Abbey's Rachel Coutinho and Jillian Lang, Lenoir-Rhyne's Brianna Belsky and Garcelle Alequine, Queens' Kathy Fisher and Charlotte Ring, Meredith's Megan Luke, Mount Olive's Christine Rocchio and Salem's Jordan Lanier.
Nominees were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals and voted on by the NCCSIA members.
Founded in 2002, the NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.
NCCSIA selects all-state teams in the University (Division I) and College (Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, softball and baseball.
