Soccer cruises to 6-0 victory

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team used goals from five different players as they cruised to a 6-0 USA South win against Wesleyan. The Spirits scored early and often and outshot Wesleyan 34-2, while playing twenty-two different players. Salem improves to 7-1-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the USA South. 

Jordan Lanier score in the 9th minute on a pass from Mary Ormsby. Chaniece Moss scored on a Brooke Bukas pass two minutes later, and Sydney Priest converted on a penalty kick to make it 3-0 in the first 12:43. Aliyah Rice scored her first collegiate goal in the 30th minute to make it 4-0 on a pass from Katie Fretwell, and Salem took their foot off the gas pedal.

Priest scored again early in the second half on an Alyssa Denkovich corner kick, and Ormsby scored in the 55th minute on an Amy Bounds assist. Hannah Wagner earned the shut-out in goal for Salem. The Spirits held a 16-0 corner kick advantage.

Salem stay home this weekend for USA South play as they host LaGrange and Huntingdon.
