Soccer wins 6-0 at Huntingdon

Montgomery, AL-The Salem College soccer team cruised to a 6-0 win at Huntingdon. Maddie Crumpton scored twice and added an assist. Salem improves to 14-1-1 overall and 10-1-1 in the USA South, while Huntingdon falls to 3-9-2 and 2-7-1.

Hannah Huskey got the scoring started in the 24th minute off of an assist by Brooke Bukas. Martha Santos scored 7 minutes later on a Morgan Canepa assist to make it 2-0 at the break. The Spirits put on the pressure in the second half and scored 3 goals in the first fifteen minutes of the half. Crumpton scored her first in the 47th minute. She assisted Brooke Bukas in the 51st minute. Crumpton scored again in the 59th minute. Mary Ormsby finished off the scoring with 20 minutes to go from a pass by Jasmine Romero.

Hannah Wagner earned the shutout in goal. Salem held a 20-7 shot advantage and 6-2 corner kick advantage.

The Spirits host Maryville on Friday at 2:00.
