DECATUR, Ga. – A hat trick by Agnes Scott's Myah Johnson, who put the game-winning goal past Salem's Hannah Wagner at the 57:13 mark of the second half, was the difference for the Scotties who earned a 3-2 victory on Sunday, September 8.

Johnson attempted all three shots on goal for Agnes Scott (2-1), finishing with five shots total in the contest. Joining her with multiple shots in the match was Megan Selecky (two), while Agnes Scott attempted nine shots as a unit.

Salem (2-2) finished the game with 21 shots, attempting 11 in the first half, with the most individual shots (four) coming off the foot of Baylee Greenwood. Martha Santos wrapped up the game with three shots, while teammates Kim Sephaphathi, Ellie Montes and Juliette MacMurray tallied two shots each. The two shots on goal for the Spirits offense came from Greenwood and Alyssa Denkovich.

Wagner defended the Salem net with five saves while her counterpart, Victoria Cruz, stopped 12 Spirit shots on goal, including seven in the second half.

"We were the better team," said Salemhead coach Octavia Saunders. "We dominated the game but our chances just didn't fall for us today and they capitalized on theirs."

Johnson provided Agnes Scott with a 1-0 lead at the 12:47 mark after sliding into the crease of the defense, following a pass from Val'Dazia Todd, which setup a one-on-one with Wagner. Just under 10 minutes later, at the 22:09 mark, Johnson got to the left side of Wagner and drove home a pass from Skye Svehlak for the Scotties 2-0 lead.

Dentkovich sliced that deficit in half with her first goal of the season at the 50:51 mark, the first of the second half, by virtue of a free kick for the Spirits. Johnson answered for the Scotties with her third goal of the contest, finding the back of the net from 25 yards away, at the 57:13 mark.

Greenwood added the second Salem goal of the afternoon with just over 10 minutes left in the match, following a pass from Amanda Rojo, but the Spirits offense was limited to three shots over the remainder of the contest.
