Falcons Halt Salem Winning Streak with 1-0 Triumph

MEISENHEIMER, N.C. – A Pfeiffer goal by Kelsy Esquivel at the 24:19 mark proved to be the difference as the Falcons emerged with a 1-0 win over Salem at Lefko Field in Meisenheimer, N.C., on Wednesday evening.

Pfeiffer (8-3, 4-4 USA South) attempted four shots on goal over the course of the match, attempting 11 shots total. Meanwhile, Salem (6-5-1, 2-2 USA South) also made four shots on goal and 10 in the contest.

The four shots on goal by the Spirits came from the combination of Brianna Monroe, Alyssa Denkovich, Amy Bounds and Baylee Greenwood. Seven of Salem's 10 shots in the game came in the opening frame, while Pfeiffer countered with six.

Hannah Wagner slipped to 4-3-1 on the season in net, despite making three saves over 90 minutes of play. Her Pfeiffer counterpart, Kaley Hyatt (7-2) recorded four saves in net.
