    Oliva Kleven became the first Salem individual to capture a race win, since the program’s return to the pool. She took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:19.35, just over five seconds better than Ally Swain (William Peace), who closed in a time of 1:24.79.

    After a two-week break from action, the Salem swim team returns to the pool when it heads to the North Carolina state capital to take part in the William Peace Double Dual on Saturday, Oct. 19. The event will take place at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Raleigh, beginning at 3:30 p.m., featuring competitors from Salem, William Peace, Sweet Briar and LaGrange.

    The Salem swim team completed its return to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 5, by finishing seventh at the Guilford College Invitational held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The Spirits, who finished with 55 points in the day-long event, had four individual Top-15 finishes and one Top-10 team outing (seventh) in the 200-yard medley relay.
