JUNIOR (2019): Did not compete in any matches over the course of the season ... no spring matches due to COVID-19 virus forcing cancellation of the season.

SOPHOMORE (2018): Played in five matches over the course of the season, snagging two wins as the No. 6 seed … opened the spring slate with a three-set win (2-6, 6-4, 10-4) win over Dakota McLean (Guilford) on March 16 … followed with a sweep of Anna Holland (Hollins) by scores of 6-0, 6-4 … played in only one doubles match, alongside Alyssa Cosentino, which came on April 20.

FIRST YEAR (2017): Competed in one singles match, as the No. 2 seed for the Spirits, suffering a 6-1, 6-0 setback to Elizabeth Launi (Wesleyan (Ga.)).

PREP: Graduated from Starmount High School in 2017 … a three-sport athlete who participated in track and field (sophomore), soccer (junior, senior) and tennis (junior).

PERSONAL: Eunice Abigail Funez-Ruiz … daughter of Leslie Ruiz and Santos Angel Fuiz … born May 9, 1999 … has five siblings, including Angel Funez, Crystal Funez, Henry Cortez, Oscar Prey-Ruiz and Ibrahim Prey-Ruiz … member of National Beta Club as both a junior and senior … an honor roll student as a junior … active in Book Club (sophomore) as well as Health Occupations Students of America for three years (freshman, sophomore, senior).
