RALEIGH, N.C. – Brooklyn Snow tallied a match-high nine kills and Kathryn O'Connell added eight, but Meredith had six players with at least five kills as the Avenging Angels picked up their seventh win in USA South Conference action with a 25-16, 25-19, 25-18 win over Salem in volleyball action on Thursday evening.

Show, which posted a .333 attack percentage, was also active on defense with a pair of assisted blocks. Joining Snow with two blocks for Salem (9-8, 5-3 USA South) was Taylor Moulton and Anna Schneider. Moulton was also responsible for 10 digs, while teammate Hannah Delcamp contributed 23 assists.

Caroline Corey was the catalyst to the Meredith offense, recording three early kills, as the Avenging Angels grabbed a 14-6 lead early in the first set. Kills from the trio of Snow, Madelyn Chappell and O'Connell made for a 20-12 contest, as Salem chipped away at the lead. O'Connell tacked on two late kills, but it was a pair of unforced errors by the Spirits, coupled with a kill from Ally Copenhaver, that completed the Meredith win.

The Spirits responded to the challenge by grabbing a 11-6 lead in the second set due in large part to two kills each by Snow and five unforced Meredith errors. The Avenging Angels answered by scoring 12 of the next 19 points, bringing the game to an 18-all deadlock, behind the service games of Lauren Phillips and Cathy Delano along with timely kills by Caroline Corey and Hailey Long. Meredith would score the next four unanswered points, grabbing the four-point lead, following a service ace by Delano and a kill by Kenzie Moore. Salem managed just one point down the stretch as the Avenging Angels completed the six-point win.

The momentum from the second set carried over into the third as Meredith snagged a 5-0 lead in the early stages. A kill from Snow and a miscue by the Avenging Angels didn't derail the Meredith offense, which assumed the 12-4 advantage. Salem pieced together kills from the combination of Snow and Anna Schneider, trimming the lead to 13-10, but four Meredith kills along with service aces by Delano resulted in a 23-14 Avenging Angels lead. Salem managed four points down the stretch, but Meredith completed the sweep with a kill by Kenzie Moore.
