FAYETTVILLE, N.C. - The Salem College cross country team was selected tenth in the USA South coaches preseason poll.

The Spirits enter the 2018 after a ninth place finish at the conference championship meet last season. Head Coach Britni Mohney returns to lead the runners once again for the Spirits.

 Berea College took the top spot and received 12 of the first place votes followed by Covenant College who received five votes. Piedmont College wrapped up the top three rankings in the poll. Berea took the top spot in the 2017 championship in their first year competing in the USA South.

The Spirits begin their season on September 1, hosted by Catawba College.
