PLEASANT GARDEN, NC —  The Salem Spirits competed in the Hagan Stone XC Classic on Saturday morning as the Spirits finished in fifth place.  

Jessica Bailey was the first Salem Spirit to cross the finish line for the third consecutive meet in a row. The Hagan Stone XC 5k race marked Bailey's personal record with a 22:31.9 run time. Senior Maria Martinez was the second Spirit of the day to run her personal record 5K with a time of 29:21.4.   

The Spirits will run their final non-conference 5K race this Friday at the 2018 Livingstone XC Invitational.  Following their final 5K of the season, the spirits will be gearing towards the USA South Conference meet hosted by Maryville College at the end of this month.
