Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College softball team easily won two games against USA South rival Agnes Scott, 17-0 and 22-0. Briana Crumley went 5 for 5 in the two games and hit 2 home runs. Salem is now 14-9 overall and 6-2 in the USA South, while the Scotties are 0-8 and 0-14.
The Spirits jumped out on the Scotties early in both games. They held a 9-0 lead after the 1st in game 1 and a 10-0 lead after the 1st in game 2. Lauryn Smith pitched the shutout in game 1 and Sydney Vaughn earned the shutout win in game 2.
Crumley led the team with 8 runs batted in. Breanna Herman hit a homerun in game 1. Jennifer Vitarelli (3), Logan Barefoot, and Crumley all hit doubles.
The Spirits stay home this weekend for games against Meredith and Methodist.
