RALEIGH, N.C. — Madeline Brown came through with one hit in each game, including her team-best sixth double of the season, but Meredith completed a doubleheader sweep by scores of 4-1 and 4-0 in Raleigh, N.C., on Friday, March 31st.

Brown capitalized on her sixth double of the season, which came in the first game, by scoring on a fielder's choice by Savanah Atkins. In the second game, Brown accounted for the lone Salem hit, preventing Meredith's Hannah Weigle from a no-hitter with a sixth inning single.

Katie Gerhardt was also prominent for Salem in each game, tossing a complete-game, 10-hitter in the opening contest. Gerhardt capped off the second game by allowing five hits, two runs and two walks to cap off the afternoon.

SALEM HIGHLIGHTS
-Gerhardt closed out a solid performance by tossing six innings, allowing four runs and two walks.
-Gerhardt finished off the contest with three strikeouts and allowed 10 hits.
-Madeline Brown came through with her team-best sixth double of the season.
-With an 0-for-3 outing in the opening game of the series, Carlee McWilliam saw her career-long eight-game hitting streak come to an end.
-Brown opened the game with a double to left and quickly stole third shortly thereafter.
-Atkins reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Brown for the first run of the game.
-Gerhardt had her second multi-strikeout performance of the slate, closing with three against the Avenging Angels.

MEREDITH HIGHLIGHTS
-The top third of the Meredith order, which consisted of Sarah Manis (2-3, double), Mia Staggs (1-4, run) and Alyssa Drake (3-4, 2 RBI, 2 runs, double, HR) accounted for six of the Avenging Angels' 10 hits.
-Emilee Lewis delivered two hits for Meredith as the No. 9 hitter.
-Both Avery Puryear (1-3, run) and Jessie Woller (1-2) also came through with hits for Meredith.
-Meredith took the go-ahead lead in the third on a solo home run from Drake.
-The Avenging Angels added a pair of insurance runs in the fifth with a double to left centerfield by Drake, which plated Staggs from second. Drake crossed the plate on a wild pitch.

-Salem finished with one hit in the game, which came from Brown in the sixth with a single to short.
-Salem drew four walks over the course of the game.
-Gerhardt tossed two innings for Salem, allowing two runs and two walks on five hits.
-Kat Price appeared four innings in the circle for Salem, allowing two runs off five hits, converting one strikeout.

MEREDITH HIGHLIGHTS
-Four Meredith sluggers had two hits in the victory, including Sarah Manis (2-4, double), Jessie Woller (2-3, RBI, 2 runs, double), Gracie Massengale (2-2, RBI, double) and Rheanne Burden (2-3, RBI, run).
-Three of the four Meredith RBI came from Woller, Massengale and Burden.
