WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Senior Savanah Atkins put together the first three-hit performance of her collegiate career, finishing 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, in the night cap after teammate Maleah Tate was responsible for the lone run in the first game by virtue of three stolen bases, including home, as Salem dropped a doubleheader to Greensboro (4-1 / 11-2 (5 inn.)).

Tate manufactured the lone run of the opening game by reaching on a base hit in the fifth inning. She proceeded to swipe second base and then stole both third and home after a series of throws by the Greensboro infield were unsuccessful on getting the speedy first year outfielder.

Atkins was an integral part of the Salem offense in game two, delivering three hits, including a double as she established her single-game career-high in hits. Salem scored both runs in the first inning, which included an RBI single to left center by Atkins that plated Madeline Brown. Salem plated its second run of the game, in the form of Kat Price, who came home on a throwing error at second.

-Madeline Brown delivered a pair of hits for the Spirits, moving her season total to a team-best 23.
-Salem sent both Katie Gerhardt and Kat Price to the circle. Gerhardt surrendered six runs on five hits, while Price tossed 4.1 innings, allowed five hits and didn't issue a walk.
