MEET-BY-MEET / PERSONAL BEST RESULTS

FIRST-YEAR (2023-24 / SWIMMING): Joined the Salem swimming program after competing with the soccer team … participated in seven meets over the duration of the swimming season … made her collegiate debut at the William Peace Invitational (Nov. 17-18) competing in three individual events including the 50 freestyle (28.88), 200 freestyle (2:32.00) and 200 backstroke (2:51.43) along with a trio of relays (200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 400 freestyle relay) … her time in the 200 freestyle (2:32.00) established a personal best … took part in the dual that featured both Columbia and Warren Wilson (Dec.2), competing in the 500 freestyle for the first time in her career, where she posted a time of 7:27.75 … was also a member of the 400 freestyle relay team at the event, notching a time of 4:58.49 alongside Sara Vargas, Madison Fullerton and Omega Pinnix … opened the calendar year by taking part in four events at a meet that featured Greensboro, Guilford and Randolph (Jan. 13), racing in the 200 individual medley, where she touched the wall in a time of 3:01.98 … joined Pinnix, Fullerton and Adalyn Raney in the 200 medley relay at the event, posting a time of 2:30.70 as they finished third … closed out a solid outing at the Hollins Dual (Jan. 20) where she notched three first-place finishes in the 50 freestyle (29.50), 100 freestyle (1:07.24) and 100 backstroke (1:18.01) … returned to the pool on January 27th to take part in the Salem Fast Chance Meet that featured Greensboro and Warren Wilson, earning first place in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 24:55.43, which established a program record in the event … wrapped up a solid performance at the Independent Swim South Championships (Feb. 15-17) by setting personal marks in both the 50 freestyle (28.24) and 100 backstroke (1:14.30) … capped off her season at the Emory Last Chance Meet (Feb. 23-24) with a 16th-place outing in the 100 freestyle event, which marked a personal-best time of 1:03.87.

FIRST YEAR (2023 / SOCCER): Played in 13 matches, earning the starting nod in each contest … made her collegiate debut at Hollins (Sept. 1) … did not attempt a shot over the course of the season … a primary defender for the Spirits, Huffman helped the Spirits hold opposing offenses to a .079 shot percentage after attempting 507 shots and 237 shots on goal.

PREP: Graduated from East Burke High School in 2023 … a three-sport athlete during the course of her prep career … played soccer (2019-23) under the direction of head coach Samuel Wall … competed in tennis (2019-23) for head coach Hailey Whisnant … member of the East Burke swim program, competing for head coach Hailey Oxentine … named as North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) All-Region performer for soccer (2023) … reached the NCHSAA tennis regionals (2021), earning All-Conference honors on the courts in 2021 and 2023 … was key part of the East Burke squad that reached the NCHSAA West Swimming Regionals (2022, 2023), finishing as an All-Conference performer in both 2022 and 2023.

PERSONAL: Marabeth Huffman … daughter of Diedra Huffman and David Huffman … born on January 6, 2005 … has three siblings: Samuel, Ryder and Annalyn … member of National Honor Society … was a Presidential Scholar, N.C. Scholar and a WPCC Marshall … active member of Anchor Club, HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) and Key Club while at East Burke High School.
