Clark, Regenthal Claim Five Top-10s in Home Meet for Spirits

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Salem swim team, making its first appearance in the 2023 calendar year, received two Top-3 finishes from Kylie Clark and a solid performance from Eleanore Regenthal, when the Spirits hosted Warren Wilson and Columbia College in a meet on Saturday, January 21st at the Salem Aquatic Center.

Warren Wilson captured the team portion of the meet, earning a 644-80 victory over host Salem as well as a 321-273 win over Columbia College. The Spirits also suffered a 274-86 setback to Columbia in the women's portion of the event.

Meanwhile, the Warren Wilson men claimed a 277-80 win over the Koala men's team.

Clark picked up two third-place finishes for the Salem team in the event. She touched the wall in a time of 1:42.08 in the 100 backstroke and later in the afternoon posted a time of 37.62 in the 50 freestyle. Those Top-3 finishes mark the eighth for Clark this season and the 37.62 mark in the 50 freestyle is the second-best in 2022-23.

Regenthal capped off the event by placing second in the 200 backstroke, posting a time of 3:52.22, while finishing fifth in the 200 freestyle (3:58.62) and seventh in the 50 freestyle (41.85). Regenthal posted her personal best in the 200 backstroke, shaving just over four second off her previous mark of 3:56.39.
