MARS HILL, N.C. — The Salem swim team began its two-meet in two-day stretch at Mars Hill's Harrell Pool with a pair of clashes against Warren Wilson and the host Lions on Friday afternoon.

Salem, which clashed with Warren Wilson for the second time in as many weeks, fell to the Owls by a score of 119-20. The Spirits also took an 86-17 setback to host Mars Hill in the second-ever meeting of the two programs.

Mars Hill completed the afternoon by defeating Warren Wilson by a 119-39 margin, giving the Lions two wins in the meet.

Kylie Clark moved into second-place tie in Salem's all-time history in Top-3 finishes, alongside Allison Wakefield, with 13. Clark laid claim to that with a third-place outing in the 200 freestyle after posting a time of 3:25.38.

Clark, who competed in three events over the course of the afternoon, also touched the wall fourth in the 50 freestyle (38.33) and 100 backstroke (1:49.33)

Clark picked up two third-place finishes for the Salem team in the event. She touched the wall in a time of 1:42.08 in the 100 backstroke and later in the afternoon posted a time of 37.62 in the 50 freestyle. Those Top-3 finishes mark the eighth for Clark this season and the 37.62 mark in the 50 freestyle is the second-best in 2022-23.

Eleanore Regenthal put together a solid performance in Mars Hill, delivering two fifth-place performances for the Spirits as well as a sixth-placing outing. She placed fifth in both the 100 freestyle (1:34.37) and 100 backstroke (1:54.28) for Salem. Her sixth-place finish came in the 50 freestyle, where she posted a time of 38.98 in the process.
