Salem Tennis Finalizes 2022 Spring Schedule

COMPLETE 2022 TENNIS SCHEDULE

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Salem tennis head coach Ed Steele formally announced the team's 2022 spring schedule on Wednesday, January 26th. The Spirits will compete in 17 matches, including eight at the Bert Lain Tennis Center.

Salem, which last competed in a tournament at Pfeiffer on September 26th, opens the spring slate with a 2 p.m. match against Warren Wilson on Saturday, February 19th. The following week the Spirits will host Hollins in an 11 a.m. contest, also at the Bert Lain Tennis Center.

The Spirits will not have to travel outside of Winston-Salem for their first road match, making the short trip to Winston-Salem State for a 6:30 p.m. contest on March 3rd. The two teams complete the home-in-home series 11 days later, when Salem hosts the Rams at 4:30 p.m.

Salem continues its non-conference portion of the season on Friday, March 18th, when heads to Charlotte, N.C., to face Johnson & Wales at 2 p.m. The following morning, at 10:30 a.m., the Spirits clash with USA South Conference foe N.C. Wesleyan in their fourth home match of the season.

The Spirits embark on a three-match road stretch beginning on March 26th when they face Averett at 2 p.m. Four days later, Salem squares off against Southern Virginia at 3 p.m., before the team heads to Warren Wilson for a match on April 1st at 3 p.m.

Methodist marks the first of four home matches for the Spirits in April, when the two units collide at 2 p.m. on April 2nd. Salem will then make a series of trips to Pfeiffer (May 5) and Greensboro (May 9), both matches set for 2 p.m., before returning to the Bert Lain Tennis Center.

The final three home matches for the Spirits take place during an eight-day stretch, which include clashes against William Peace (April 13), Meredith (April 14) and the home finale versus Johnson & Wales (April 21). The regular season concludes on the road with matches at Mary Baldwin (April 22) and Hollins (April 23).
